Law 35/1995, of 11 December, establishes a public aid system in favour of direct or indirect victims of frauds and violence committed in Spain resulting in death or serious injuries or serious injury to physical or mental health. Similarly, aids for direct victims of offences against offences against sexual freedom even when they are committed without violence.
The term for applying for such aid is one year calculated as of the date the offence took place. Nevertheless, this term is interrupted with the beginning of the penal process and resumes once the sentence is issued.
